Ottawa, August 11 (Post Bureau): Nearly 30,000 people in Canada have signed an online petition calling for the removal of US President Donald Trump’s ambassador to Canada, Pete Hoekstra, from the country. The petition accuses Hoekstra of making statements that damage Canada-US diplomatic relations and interfere in Canada’s internal politics. The petition is due to be presented to the House of Commons at the end of the year and will be presented by Green Party leader Elizabeth May. However, the petition from the MP Submitting the petition does not mean he agrees with its demands. The controversy escalated when Hoekstra said. it would be a “good discussion” for Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Trump to discuss the possibility of the United States annexing Canada. The US embassy did not comment on the petition, but said it was aware of it.
