Ottawa, 8 October (The Global Eye): Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Wednesday said his government will build a stronger, more resilient economy, as he outlined a plan to reduce dependency on the U.S. while promoting trade diversification, higher productivity and greater economic security.
Carney said Canada must become less dependent on its largest trading partner and expand its global ties, while investing in domestic industries, clean energy and critical minerals. “We need to make Canada more self-reliant, more competitive and more resilient in the face of global uncertainty,” he said.
He added that Canada must reduce its reliance on the U.S., increase domestic production, and strengthen its supply chains to be better prepared for future challenges. “We are investing in our people, our industries and our communities to create a more competitive and resilient Canada,” Carney said.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of clean energy and critical minerals in driving the country’s economic growth and global influence.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of creating good jobs, supporting workers and strengthening the country’s supply chains. He said the government’s economic plan will focus on long-term growth, innovation and a cleaner, greener future. “Canada’s economy is our strongest tool for a better, more prosperous tomorrow,” Carney added.
