Toronto, August 5 (Post Bureau): Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Wednesday took a humorous dig at US President Donald Trump after the teleporter suddenly stopped working during a press conference on housing policy in Toronto. Carney said with a smile, “I want to tell you that the teleporter has stopped working. As a certain world leader, I do not believe this is a conspiracy.” His comment drew laughter from the journalists present. This comment is being considered a reference to Trump’s previous incident, when he was at the United Nations General Assembly. He had called for an investigation after his telecomputer malfunctioned during the speech. Carney’s office and the White House did not immediately respond to the matter. It is worth noting that relations between Canada and the United States have been tense since Trump returned to power. Trump has imposed broad tariffs on Canada and has also made statements such as making Canada the “51st state” of the United States. On the other hand, Carney has been openly opposing Trump’s trade policies and advocating for reducing Canada’s economic dependence on the United States.
