The first General Meeting of the two newly registered organizations – Jai Hind Canadian Society INC (federally registered with the Government of Canada) and Jai Hind Seniors Club, Brampton (registered with the City of Brampton) – was held on September 18, 2025, at the Mount Pleasant Village Library, Brampton.
The meeting witnessed an overwhelming response with the participation of more than 100 members from across Brampton, reflecting the growing enthusiasm and community spirit among Indian diaspora families and seniors.
The program commenced with a warm and graceful welcome by Mrs. Parul Ben Shah, who greeted all members, along with the dignitaries: President Shri Chandreshbhai Patel, Secretary Mrs. Usha Ben Patel, Joint Secretary Dr. Ajai Raizada, and Shri Satish bhai Patel, Treasurer,and Shri Arun Bhai Patel,Internal Auditor of both organisations.
The proceedings of the meeting were ably anchored by Shri Kalpeshbhai Shah, who ensured a smooth flow of the event.
Mrs. Usha Ben Patel, Secretary of the Society, in her address, highlighted the objectives and benefits of both organizations. She underlined how Jai Hind Canadian Society aims to serve Indians belonging to diverse communities across Canada, while the Jai Hind Seniors Club is exclusively dedicated to seniors who often have limited social circles. She emphasized that the Club provides seniors with opportunities for active engagement, cultural celebrations, awareness about their rights, and platforms to build friendships, thereby helping them overcome isolation in their second innings of life.


President Shri Chandreshbhai Patel, whose vision and initiative led to the establishment of both organizations, delivered an inspiring keynote address. In his speech, he elaborated on the objectives, community service goals, and long-term vision of these organizations for seniors and the wider Indian community in Brampton and across the Greater Toronto Area. His words were hailed as historic by the attendees.
In today’s meeting, Mr.Gaurang Dhebhar, of “Antar Sattva” beautifully explained the concept of self-Healing Therapy to the members.His presentation highlighted how this unique practice not only helps in reducing stress and removing negativity but also plays a significant role in curing various chronic diseases and providing relief from depression.
The gathering also had the privilege of hearing from Ms. Jigna Naik, Library Settlement Counselor, who shared valuable information about various programs and free services available to seniors and youth through the library system, which was highly appreciated by all.
The meeting also included a solemn moment of respect, as members observed two minutes of silence in memory of the late Shri Bharatbhai Manubhai Patel (Chaklasi), a beloved and active member of the community who passed away on September 6, 2025.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Ajai Raizada, who expressed deep gratitude to all members, dignitaries, and supporters for making the event a grand success.
The historic meeting concluded with a delightful “Potluck Lunch”, where members shared homemade dishes, reflecting their warmth, love, and unity. The atmosphere of harmony and cultural togetherness beautifully symbolized the spirit of unity in diversity on Canadian soil.
This first General Meeting marked the beginning of a new chapter of service, cultural bonding, and empowerment for the Indian community in Brampton, promising many more meaningful initiatives in the future.
